AS1 Basic Fire Safety Training (2 hours) for a group
Delivery
The AS1 initial firefighting training (2 hours) will be held at a time agreed with your organisation. The training includes both a theoretical section and a practical firefighting exercise. It can be flexibly arranged either at your company’s premises or at another agreed location.
Qualification
Successful completion of the training entitles you to an AS1 card issued by SPEK (the Finnish National Rescue Association), which is valid for 5 years. The training meets the requirements of insurance companies’ safety guidelines.

The AS1 Initial Firefighting Training course provides everyone with practical skills to respond correctly during the early stages of a fire. The training is delivered in accordance with the national initial firefighting concept, and those who complete it receive an initial firefighting card (AS1 card) issued by the Finnish National Rescue Association (SPEK), which is valid for five years.
This training is suitable for businesses, organisations and individuals who wish to increase their safety awareness and improve their ability to respond in the event of an accident.
Course content
Theory session (1 hour, indoors)
- Characteristics and behaviour of a fire
- The importance of initial firefighting and the chain of action
- The correct procedures to follow in the event of a fire
- Extinguishing various types of fires using first-aid fire-fighting equipment
Practical training (1 hour, outdoors)
- Using a fire blanket
- Safe and effective use of a portable fire extinguisher
The exercise will take place, for example, in a courtyard or car park with at least approximately 5 × 10 m of open space.

- For young people and hobby groups (minimum age 12)

- Total duration of the training: 2 hours
- Maximum group size: 20 participants per trainer
