Hot work card training is intended for anyone who carries out or intends to carry out hot work as part of their job. Hot work refers to tasks that generate sparks, involve the use of a flame or other intense heat, and present a fire hazard. Completing the hot work card training is mandatory for, amongst others, welders, flame and arc cutters, construction and repair workers, and anyone who uses hot work equipment such as a gas torch or hot air gun.

Completing the training ensures that the employee is aware of the risks associated with hot work, knows how to work safely and is prepared to respond appropriately in the event of an accident. The hot work card is approved by SPEK and is valid for 5 years, after which it must be renewed. Following the training, you will receive an official card certifying your competence in hot work.

A hot work permit is also a requirement at many workplaces and on projects where hot work is carried out. The training covers safety requirements for hot work, risks, protective measures and procedures in the event of an emergency.
