Aerial work platforms are indispensable tools on construction sites and for maintenance work, but their use always requires expertise and care. This video training course was produced in collaboration with Ramirent. The course provides a clear introduction to the use of aerial work platforms, safety and legislation.

The training combines practical demonstrations, illustrative images and videos, the trainer’s presentations, as well as graphics and animations.

What does the course involve?

The course consists of eight modules:

1. Introduction and legislation – the intended use of aerial work platforms, the law and responsibilities
2. Types of personnel lifts and their uses – scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailer-mounted lifts and other options
3. Preparations and checks prior to commissioning – daily checks, taking conditions into account and a safe start-up
4. Safe use and working practices – correct procedures, fall protection and working in pairs
5. Hazardous situations and risk management – the most common risks and how to anticipate them
6. Controls and steering – use of controls and backup systems
7. End of use and storage – safe shutdown, tidying up and reporting faults
8. Summary – a recap of the key points
