Duration

4 hours of theory lessons (online training)
As an optional extra, you can choose to take part in practical exercises during a live training session

Course content

1. Action at the scene / in situations requiring first aid
   • Assessing the situation and ensuring safety
   • Making an emergency call, calling for additional help
   • Situational assessment exercises
2. Examination of the patient
   • Checking breathing and circulation
   • Checking the patient's position, clearing the airways
   • Exercises in small groups (using examples from the online material)
3. Resuscitation
   • The steps of CPR
   • Using a defibrillator (basics)
   • Practical exercises (video tutorials)
4. Removing a foreign object from the airways
   • The Heimlich manoeuvre and back blows
   • Scenarios in children and adults
5. Training in the management of bleeding, shock and the use of a defibrillator
   • Applying a pressure bandage and stopping bleeding
   • First aid for a patient in shock
   • Practising the use of a defibrillator (illustrated in the online material)

Certificate and card

Those who complete the course will receive a certificate confirming their first aid skills. If you wish, you can order an official first aid card separately to verify the skills you have acquired.
